Installers for bootable containers

Hey there. During my Christmas break and since my previous post about the differences between image-builder and bootc-image-builder some people had questions about our progress on building installers out of bootable containers.

It made me realize that not many people are familiar with the direction we’re going and that a new installer type, which bases the installer environment on a container, is available.

In my opinion, the work of your team is invaluable.

Some time ago, I opened a issue regarding the inclusion of the information from your posts in the official Fedora bootc documentation. With the latest additions, I’ll try some experiments and ask further questions in the Matrix room so I can start working on the guide, if you don’t mind.

Thanks, yes that would probably be a better place for all of this though it’s also all ever-changing

Bootable containers are rapidly changing emerging technology, so I think (frequent) docs improvements are to be expected.
