how to find kde spin hash
https://spins.fedoraproject.org/en/verify
direct link to checksum file: https://getfedora.org/static/checksums/37/iso/Fedora-Spins-37-1.7-x86_64-CHECKSUM
it is not present in the website.
certainly is.
can you show me a screenshot i cant find it in default website.
Open https://spins.fedoraproject.org/en/verify
and in a square you will find the text “Verify 64-bit iso”. Click on that, and you get the CHECKSUM file.
yes but it is not accessible from official website
which is what?
If you mean that there isn’t a direct link to checksum file on https://getfedora.org/, then none of the ISO’s has it. You go to their download page and follow the verification step there, which leads to checksum files and instructions about how to do it.
As described here you first go to that page.
then with a right click on the text he describes you can select “save as” or “save link as” and it will download the CHECKSUM file for you. (You should save it in the same location as you saved the ISO.)
Download page of the KDE spin:
Click Verify your download
and it leads to:
Click on the Verify 64-bit iso
and it opens the checksum file.
Exactly, and a right click on that same button gives you the option to save the CHECKSUM file to your PC.
The content of that file is what is used to verify the spin ISO with sha256sum
When I click the “Verify your download” button at the top of the page, it is redirecting me to a different page, which I think might be the cause of this confusion:
It would be nice if mediawrite
would actually fetch the CHECKSUM file and verify the downloaded iso file, and also document if it does so.
That may be the confusion issue. For me it tells me the download should start, but if not then to click the link below. My download does not automatically start.
The link in the paragraph titled “Verify your Download!” takes you to the page already noted above for the actual download.
