Hi, I installed a new theme on my Fedora 34, but after that the Gnome tweaks tool won’t start anymore. I tried to reboot and reinstall the tool, but it keeps on crashing. What can I do? Thanks in advance.
Hey and welcome @cerozz96
Have you checked GNOME Extensions?
Maybe a corrupted theme which make gnome-tweaks crash, Please check this DIrectory, make a backup, and delete the directory where the theme live:
Thanks, the theme was corrupted, and Nautilus too was not opening. I deleted the folder from the terminal and now everything is working fine
Great to know
Another two approaches are:
1.- use dconf-editor
sudo dnf install dconf-editor
and navigate through org → gnome → desktop → interface and change there.
2.- use gsettings
gsettings list-recursively org.gnome.desktop.interface
org.gnome.desktop.interface icon-theme 'Papirus-Dark' org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-theme 'Pop-dark' org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-key-theme 'Default' org.gnome.desktop.interface cursor-theme 'Oxygen_Yellow'
A. You can reset to original values:
gsettings reset org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-theme or gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-theme ''
B. or change the key with
set to gtk-theme to Adwaita (Default one):
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-theme "Adwaita"
After run this command logout and login back or reboot.
