Hello, it’s my first time I installed linux, so I am a newbie. I installed linux to work with CUDA and machine learning/deep learning. I installed the rpm fusion drivers for NVIDIA and use conda for the enviroments. The problem is that the UI (I use KDE) glitch/freeze (e.g the time freeze, the bottom bar freeze and the time remain the same or can’t really click on bottom things) and sometimes it randomly freeze all the system in which I have to turn off the computer. I have this logs https://paste.rs/SXtcF when it crashed. Can someone help me understand what’s the problem and how can I fix it? Thanks! I have also other logs https://paste.rs/wwO58 and https://paste.rs/dVd6J

All that show that the nvidia driver is installed, but the following shows a problem.
The akmod-nvidia package is missing from that list so it will never build another kmod-nvidia package for a newer kernel
You are also missing the xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-cuda-libs.i686 which always gets installed for me when I install xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-cuda.
Please repeat the command dnf install akmod-nvidia so that package is available to build new drivers when you receive a kernel update.
You show 2 different GPUs, one integrated on the mobo and one nvidia.
Which ports are you connected to with the monitor.? It seems you may be using a DP on the nvidia adapter but I am not 100% certain.
Realistically, since the intel iGPU is active it may be causing the errors even though it does not have a monitor attached.
Is it possible to go into the bios setup and disable the iGPU at the bios level?
Yes the gpu is connected with the display port. Also, I did that command and now it looks like I don’t have that pacakge

I entered in the bios but I couldn’t find an option to disable the internal gpu of the motherboard. Is possible to remove the drivers on fedora?
I just noticed another automatically installed package that is installed for me but is missing from your list. Missing packages that are installed as dependencies may cause various problems with displays and the system in general.
There are 2 different i686 packages that get automatically installed with a new clean install. I just tested by removing everything then reinstalling it on my system.
The packages xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-cuda-libs.i686 and xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-libs.i686 are both missing from your install listed above.
What I did was a removal with
$ sudo dnf remove \*nvidia\* --exclude nvidia-gpu-firmware --noautoremove
then verified the removal with
$ dnf list installed *nvidia*
Installed Packages
nvidia-gpu-firmware.noarch 20231030-1.fc39 @updates-testing
Then finally I did a renistall with
$ sudo dnf install akmod-nvidia xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-cuda
and verified that with
$ dnf list installed \*nvidia\*

Note that I have the listed i686 packages installed which came in as dependencies when installing both akmod-nvidia and xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-cuda.
Yes, I am already running F39, but those 2 packages are normally installed for the nvidia drivers.
I can’t get them, don’t know the reason:

Hmmmm
Is there a chance you may have told dnf to never install i686 packages?
Please post the output of cat /etc/dnf/dnf.conf
The output is:
[klinda@superleague ~]$ cat /etc/dnf/dnf.conf
# see `man dnf.conf` for defaults and possible options
[main]
gpgcheck=True
installonly_limit=3
clean_requirements_on_remove=True
best=False
skip_if_unavailable=True
[klinda@superleague ~]$
What if you tried installing those 2 explicitly
dnf install xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-cuda-libs.i686 xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-libs.i686
While I cannot confirm this is the issue, it seems strange that your install did not pull them in.
It installed many dependencies but now I have this, however I don’t belive that’s the reason, but let’s see if it brokes again:

All those errors you have posted have been when using wayland.
Have you by chance tried logging in with xorg to see of there may be a difference.?
I seem to remember that until recently kde/plasma used xorg by default.
That seems to be required if you have mesa-libGL.i686 installed
dnf repoquery --requires xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-cuda-3:535.113.01-1.fc38.x86_64
(xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-cuda-libs(x86-32) = 3:535.113.01-1.fc38 if mesa-libGL(x86-32))
ld-linux-x86-64.so.2()(64bit)
...
I got x11 let’s see how it goes (in the login page I just changed it). However it seems now I have another problem that before there wasn’t, sometimes the system don’t boot and I need to turn off and on to hope it gets to the login screen. Probably are the new packages did I install?
In the grub menu you can edit (press “e”) the command line to remove the “rhgb quiet” and see error messages while booting, but on fast machines they can go by faster than you can read them. Alternatively, once you have a successful boot, How to Check Logs Using Journalctl, Arch Linux Systemd Journal, and man journalctl all explain how to view messages from a previous boot. Journalctl is very powerful, but there is a lot of detail in the logs so it takes some effort to find entries relevant to your problem. These may help understand the problem. It can be useful to know if you get the same error for every failed boot, no error, or a variety of errors. Note that there are lots of “Master journalctl in 5 minutes” guides that heavily plagerize better quality documents, and mastering journactl takes days, not minutes.
Is you system booting more than one OS? Sometimes the order in which you use different OS’s after tuning one the power makes a difference, due to differences in device initialization.
Update on the freezes: Seems that now the problems occur later or rarely. For example, I was seeing a streaming video and the computer freezed. To see the video I did these commands wrote there Installing plugins for playing movies and music :: Fedora Docs :

For the other question: yes I use dual boot with windows and in windows i don’t have any problem. If I remove that queit option I see al the tests that are passed with “ok”, but then it doesn’t reach the login screen, I have to try few times.
Have you fully upgraded all Fedora packages and also device firmware? When you report problems it is best to fully update so a) others will have the same cnfigurations and b) you aren’t wasting time on bugs that have been fixed.
Many vendors have been updating the “BIOS” and device drivers so it can be hard to keep up. Linux has fwupd which is supported by many of the major vendors. For others you may need to visit the vendor site while running windows.
This seems to indicate that you probably need to do the following to solve those conflicts.
dnf swap libavcodec-free libavcodec-freeworld --allowerasing
This will remove several “*-free” packages from fedora and install the ones from rpmfusion that have additional codecs.
I have found that the multimedia documentation at fedora docs is not quite up to date with more recent changes in fedora.
