when i reinstalled fedora rawhide, i saw two new apps, parental controls and firefox external.
while there are several uses of the parental controls app, the firefox external app is simply a file manager when nautilus already exists, it might be more appropriate to remove it.
Not trying to hijack this thread but I came here with a Firefox question as well… can start a different thread if appropriate.
I recently heard on an episode of “This Week in Linux” that RHEL 10 was going to ship with the Flatpak (RHEL remote) version of Firefox by default. Sure enough when the beta of RHEL 10 came out Firefox is on the list of packages being removed, presumably in favor of the Flatpak version.
Are we finally approaching a release where the Firefox Flaptak will be installed by default instead of the RPM? I took a look at the bug tracking the changes needed and it seems like it is getting really close.
