Fedora logo flickers when changing desktop?

Hi,

In my fedora 40 install, if I swipe between desktops, I notice the fedora logo (default background) positioned in the bottom right flickering right at the very end of the animation. Anyone notice this?

I don’t notice this myself. Do you have any Gnome extensions installed on your system that might influence the appearance or behaviour of the desktop?

I think the issue is with the background logo extension. The extension cannot recalculate its position correctly when switching desktops or entering overview. It is not part the background and can be disabled.

Removed kernel-install

Added f40, gnome, workstation

I have the extension enabled and the logo seems to stay in place without flicker, so i’d be curious to know what would be different in OP’s situation.

Can confirm, the fedora logo flickers when using the touchpad. It slides to the bottom when using the keyboard. I have no extensions installed besides the fedora logo one.

Screencast

Probably not much you can do to fix the issue on your side. Creating a bug report might be a valid option.

Interestingly, i see you’re using Kooha for the capture there. When i start Kooha the logo will show the same behaviour as in your clip (slide down a little). But without screen capture running the logo just stays in place.

Here’s a video showing what I mean.
