"dmesg: read kernel buffer failed: Operation not permitted"?

On F39 here, I’m now unable to use dmesg:

$ dmesg
dmesg: read kernel buffer failed: Operation not permitted

I can still use journalctl -k to see kernel logs, but I’m surprised that dmesg doesn’t work any more. Any one know if this is a kernel policy change that I’ve missed please?

You can also just ‘sudo dmesg’
