Cannot decrypt drive, systemd-vconsole.service starts then hangs on boot

I have been trying to reinstall Fedora to get version 42. (based on my previous post, see here) However when rebooting and starting (with any kernel, even recovery) systemd-vconsole.service will proceed to start, stop, start, then “finish”. Yet no input is detected so I am unable to enter the LUKS password.

I have not been able to access the boot logs because I do not know how to using a live USB. However I do plan on reinstalling and testing without encryption. I suspect it either has to do with updates or the install media. (and yes, I did test the media before I installed it and it passed.)

I also have had many problems with my Thinkpad P14s, and I would like to ask if anyone has had any similar problems or experiences with their Thinkpads just in case this is a common problem?

My Install Isn’t even encrypted.

Edit: So about 30 seconds or so after I started dying of stress, It did end up booting to plasma? I am so confused on why this would take over 30 seconds for no reason. Can someone help me with this strange problem?

I overthink too much. (lol)

So it turns out when I would add my custom grub options, I accidentally left the old LUKS perimeters that were incorrect so It would not find my drive, thus hanging itself.

At work and especially for workshops where time is tight so you don’t want any mistakes that break something, I used “buddy system” where one person enters commands why the other one catches mistakes and asks questions. I watched a recent live Youtube video attempting a laptop repair where the presenter inadvertently took a part from a “donor” board without checking that the pinout matched the old failed chip. A viewer caught the error, but the presenter spent a lot of time looking for the problem after the replacements didn’t solve the issue.
