Can I add my built-in LAN to virt-manager guest via Add PCI Host device?

Continuing the discussion from Network speed: USB redirecting vs NAT:

As I only got 900Mbit / sec after adding the USB-C 2.5Gb adaptor to guest as USB Host Device.

I want to compare if adding the built-in LAN via add PCI Host Device.

With my lspci output below, can I add 01:00:0 to my guest?

It turns out I can do add PCI Host Device, provided:

  • all devices in the same IOMMU group is added

By lspci -v, my iommu gruop 1 lists NIC and WIFI controller.

After both are added to guest via virt-manager, it works.

The PCI nic speed in guest is almost the same as the host:
iperf3 score: 939 Mbits/sec

You might also ask there. The 2.5Gb Network over libvirt might be not implemented yet?!
You might also check why the NAT is so much faster.
