Bluetooth mic not working

I am using SkullCandy Smokin Buds TWS earbuds.

The device pairs without any hiccups, but the audio only plays on one of the earbuds when connected.

And the mic will never work.

I have tried setting the profile to pavucontrol to hands free but then I lose whatever audio I was getting.

I also tried sending some weird commands using hda-verb from this article.

Does anyone have any idea ? I am kind of at my wits end.

I can provide whatever debug information you need.

Test it with your phone to make sure it is not a hardware issue, I have a pair of earbuds that sometimes only play in one ear, it was a hardware issue, I had dropped the earbuds on the floor and I think I damaged them. I would also try the usual unpairing the device and pairing it again, you never know, sometimes that works. And for the mic check your Sound settings where it says “input device” to see if it is being detected.
