Bad Wi-Fi connection

I recently installed fedora on my laptop, along with windows. The problem is that fedora drops the Wi-Fi connection in another room. the Wi-Fi router is in the room at the other end of the apartment. Windows catches the wifi signal fine, I want to figure out what the problem is, I really like fedora, but this problem is a bit annoying.
