Anyone else having issues with (micro) sd card readers on 37?

Hello,

Since upgrading to version 37 I started having issues with the micro sd card reader. The micro sd card reader device is recognised by the system but i have to run modprobe -r sdhci_pci and then modprobe sdhci_pci for the sd card to be recognised as a storage device.

I’m running Fedora 37 on a Thinkpad P14s Gen 2 AMD.

Anyone else experiencing similar issues?

I don’t use an installed sd card reader. Mine is a usb device and I don’t have a problem with it.

I suspect you would have no issue if the card were inserted at the time the reader were configured.

This seems similar to what happens with some CD/DVD devices in that they are not properly configured when the system starts with no disk inserted, but are configured to read the disk when it is inserted before booting.

Since udev is responsible for configuring the sd card when it is inserted the issue probably lies with the way udev senses (or fails to sense) the card inserted into the reader.
