I’m a long time *NIX user - since the late 1990s. I am a strong open source advocate and my career has usually centred on administering, using, or documenting Linux environments. Until mid-2026, I worked at Oracle, as the director of Oracle Linux and Virtualization User Assistance, which included responsibility for Oracle Linux documentation and training material. Oracle Linux was downstream of RHEL and Fedora, and I used Fedora for the majority of my home workstation and server systems. Following the end of my tenure at Oracle, I felt that it was time to give back to the community and I have been volunteering in the Fedora Documentation and Fedora Server groups, particularly helping out with documentation and also with a longer term view to get involved in software testing.
