Well 40 year long apple product consumer. Started using some other peoples mac at aged 10. In the last 10 years, or so, I have been getting more and more frustrated and disillusioned with them. Mid to late last year I decided it was time for me to leave. So I have begun extracting myself from the computer part of their eco system. Initially I was going to switch to windows but realised that it was going to be just more of the same, not really a solution. Then I came across a Bazzite youtube video. So I dug out an old 2014 27" i5 iMac to start familiarising myself with Linux as I slowly (the RAM catastrophe hadn’t started yet) build my replacement PC in the background. But I started finding Bazzite was blocking me from fixing issues constantly. So I switched to Fedora KDE desktop. I was concerned about how hard it might be to get steam running but that turned out to be the easiest thing to get running. I think I am settled on Fedora KDE. But I’m going to need soo much help. The extra complications befuddle me.
