A programmer from the old school, when things were done in C and assembler. I worked largely on 32-bit x86 PC’s that had co-processor boards used for communicating with other systems, such as mainframes, with different architectures.
My favorite application was hooking together two unlike systems through a PC in the middle, with a co-processor emulator board on either side.
I have been using Unix and Linux seriously since 1994. Currently I am no longer a programmer professionally but for the past few years I have been dabbling in Python, C++ and Forth (gforth) on both Linux and Windows.
I have been using Fedora since it before it was Fedora. It was Red Hat Linux. And I have used Windows since before it was popular, Windows 2.0.
Times have changed so much. I am challenging the aging process by trying to keep up with some of the changes.
