Professionally, I’ve been a software developer / engineer for the last 25 years. Except for the last 2 1/2 where I’ve found myself unemployed due to a COVID layoff that hasn’t recovered. Freelance when I can, find other side work etc.

Since m first day as a professional developer my sole focus has been on C/C++ on UNIX/Linux systems. There have been other things mixed in there, naturally, (Java, Python, Ruby, Perl, ASM / Android, AS/400 IBM-4690, DEC Alpha VMS cluster etc) as well as some embedded work, bit I haven’t written any meaningful Windows software in over 20 years. Hope I can get back at it soon.

Music of all kinds have played constantantly too throughout my live. Played semi-professionally for a number of years as well.

Apart from that I used to ride and competitively show horses; was really into the high-performance automotive thing; still love the outdoors and nature - hunting, fishing, wild food foraging etc. I’ve always been really into electronics and while I’m not as active on the air as I used to be, I am an extra class licensed amateur radio operator.

And that’s just a start. I’m a very complex person with a lot of diverse, ecclectic interests, it’s too much to cover it all here.
