Xwayland has high CPU usage on several websites in Kinoite

Hi, since a while I detect that the computer fan is spinning louder than it used to be. I have cleaned it, wasn’t very dirty, but now it is clean but that didn’t do it.
When I, for instance, use Spotify in the webbrowser kwin_wayland uses between 15 and 30% of the CPU and that is enough to pass the threshold for the fan to start spinning at a higher speed, making so much noise that I can hear it above the music I want to hear. Not desirable.
When I just use a “old-fashion” html website all is well, it’s always when something is running on the webpage.

I use Kinoite 44, upgraded one week ago, but even before that the fan was already noisy.

Here are the computer details:

Below is an image of Htop, sorted by CPU usage:

Who has an idea what this could be? Can it be a codec I am missing for example?
If I need to send more info please let me know.
Thanks.

Could you please post the text instead of an image for the htop data.
That image is nearly 100% unreadable even when expanded.

Seems excessively high - even with a video playing in Zen, kwin-Wayland is between 2.5 and 4% here.

Is CPU consumption equally high with no browser running, Brave running with nothing active and a different browser running?

It turns out it is most likely not caused by the Spotify webpage but a webpage with puzzles. I restarted the laptop and the browser, opened Spotify but the CPU usage is pretty low and the laptop is quiet. I then started to figure out what can it be and one by one I opened pages which were in the history of the browser. So I noticed it is this webpage: Suguru puzzles It doesn’t mean this is the only one, but it is one which I open on a daily basis. The high score starts when the page is placed in the foreground. When it is behind other pages the score is stil low, asif something is switched off. I have no idea what the page uses that can cause a high CPU score.

Try Shift+Esc within the browser - they usually throw up their internal version of htop and let you see which tabs are sucking all of the memory up and which tabs are burning CPU cycles as though they were free.

Might give you a bit of insight as to who’s the guiltiest, but I admit I have no idea if Brave supports this. FF based browsers definitely do.
