Window Shadow/Outline Colors for all windows

Hi everyone,

I would like to set or enforce the “Shadow and Outline” colored border to all windows

For example Dolphin and Kwrite works fine as well as Flatpak VLC but Flatpak Firefox and Flatpak Brave doesn’t get the border.

I’ve read this other thread but it wasn’t that helpful:

I guess that is probably an application side problem but does anyone know If it’s possible to solve this at system level ?

I would say, that your flatpak is installed system wide and not takes your user settings.

What output do you get while running flatpak list in the terminal?

Just to show what I mean, mine looks like:

Brief io.github.shonebinu.Brief 0.3.2 stable flathub system
OrcaSlicer io.github.softfever.OrcaSlicer 2.0.0-951fc8e master orcaslicer-origin user

Scroll to the right and see the user/system field. What do you see for the Brave & Firefox flatpak app?

Hey men. I’m new to this whole flatpak and I have been a .deb user/folk for the last 8+ years.

I can see that all of my flatpak are listed as “system” on the “Installation” column.

For example Firefox:

Firefox org.mozilla.firefox 152.0.3 stable system

VLC is also listed as system but the border color works as expected:

VLC org.videolan.VLC 3.0.23 stable system

Maybe it’s not Flatpak-related. What I notice that the apps you mention are working as expected are KDE/Qt apps, whereas those not working (Firefox, Brave) are not.

For me it looks that the browser are gtk, while the theme must be a qt stuff.

In gnome you normally can change that with the gnome tweaks. Then it is the other side around … making qt themes look gtk. I do not know if this helps, it looks like a theme mismatch for me.
