Will KDE Plasma 6.3 be available as an update for Fedora 41?

Hi,

Will KDE Plasma 6.3 be available as an update for Fedora 41 next month or will it only come with Fedora 42 later? Thank you.

When 6.2 was released it was immediately build, tested and released without a new Fedora release.

So i have high expectations the same will be true for 6.3.

28 ago, have here in 41 with a Nvidia Graphicscard and suffer since the Plasma 6.2 it’s out aith Graficsbugs, freeces and able only 5 Windows open and the others have grapicsdistortions if more as 5 Windows open, if VBox open and i play around in Plasma 6.2 freeze VBox… but if i klick a freeced buddon for shuting down the OS, goes with freeced screen in poweroff and closed the vbox Window…
And this in the last weeks… it’s important for update to 6.3 … no productivity possible !!

@barryascott could you check if plasma 6.3 in updatebuild or like i can say… so for update in the next couples days… or could you check it for updated in the next couples ?times?
because my english is not so effectly and not so good like it should as more 25years Mandrakeuser ehh now Fedorauser :wink:

6.3 has not been released by kde yet. I think its abou 4 weeks away from release.

hmmmm, thy, damn why have then Nate speak about 6.3 and 6.4 and so on at his blog and makes your mouth water because of the bug fixes… gnh…
Danm at me droel at the corner at my mouth en mass for these bugfixes for be in able again to open multible Windows again in kde and multible Opengl/Vulcan instances without memory leaks and freece’s for rocking on my Desktop again…

Nate is being open and keeping everyone informed. Surely better then be closed and quiet?

It is always worth doing a web search to find a projects schedule.

I see that plasma 6.3 has been built for f40 and f41 already.
It usually takes 2 weeks for an update to pass testing.

finally be the first bugs gone like at start of the 4.0 !!
in the last couples day’s have i use XFce as WinXP /win7 surface
for have a smoothly “desktoping” but i be now back in a… Plasma :slight_smile:

Hi @barryascott ,

there is a hard fail still in kde/plasma, the Stream in Screen, so the stream from, as example from Firefox, if i let run a Movie or a TV-Stream and let it flip it out of the webpage, place it right on the top and let show it on all screens, become i troubles if i start Virtualbox,
the screen in virtual box stay’s black or, if i have first Start VBox and want open a Dolphinwindow or more as 5 Filemanagerwindow become i glinches from these windows.
Or VBox works so far, i swich to the first screen and open Dolphin or start a moviescreen and switch back to the screen2 to VBox, is vbox freeze, i can go over a icon from rocketdock (an iconbar for win32) and can click on it, but no visual effect but it act in vbox or, if i klick on start button, no effect, but, like in rocketdock, i bet the start menu goes up, but the screen is still freece’ed.
I have a Nvidia Card with rpmfusion, but i have in XCFe not some trubles like in Plasma 6.3
in XCfe works nicely …
