Hi, Thank you for reading my post. It means a lot. I’ve done a lot of searching and asked AI but I just wanted to see if a real life person that has experience with these processors could give me a sentence or two of their real world experience so, thank you again for taking the time to read this.
I’m coming from a long line of MacBook Pros so I don’t know Intel and I don’t want to take a step down in latency and responsiveness (opening apps). However, an extra $440.00 is a lot of money to me but I will spend it if I need to.
I spend many hours a day on my computer but mainly surfing the web, running light programs, and photo editing.
I would like to give Fedora a try and I want to buy a system preconfigured with Fedora.
I settled on the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 but I have two different processor options.
Intel Core Ultra 5 226v and Intel Core Ultra 7 266v
My question is.
Will I notice a difference in boot times, Opening apps like Gimp and web browsers ect.?
If so, I will upgrade. It sucks coming from Mac Land because I have no exposure to this stuff and I know this question is super basic but I just want to make the right choice with no regrets.
