What's a good thumb drive fixing tool on Fedora?

Hi , I tried using an old thumb drive but I am informed that it’s missing a partition table / it’s not bootable / it’s read only. Anybody have and advice what tool to use to fix it ?

First thing to check is to make sure it doesn’t have a physical switch that makes it read-only.

If that doesn’t work, try to write a new partition table to the device using gparted, parted or fdisk.

A side note, thumb drives have an absurdly high failure rate. It may just be broken.

Also note that the common mode of failure for a thumb drive is to go into a read-only state. The data is there but cannot be changed.

I thought ther might be a way to save it but , it’s dead. No actual data lose , I will just buy a fed heavy duty microSD cards and I used GParted to check it. It’s a great tool so I recommend it all future readers of this post if they face a similar issue.
