What is the proper way to enable hardware acceleration with Celluloid (the RPM package) on vanilla Fedora 42?

I installed vanilla F42 on my new AMD Thinkpad. Everything is working. I got hardware acceleration to work in Firefox, VLC, and MPV. Celluloid is the only program that doesn’t work with hardware acceleration, even though it’s supposed to use MPV as a backend.

I installed almost all of the video codecs.

Then, I attempt the following in celluloid:

Preferences > Config Files tab > Enabled ‘Load mpv configuration file’

Navigate to the location of your mpv.conf file (e.g., ~/.config/mpv/mpv.conf).

Select the file and confirm.

However, the configuration is lost when the Preferences window is closed.

I tried using the “Extra MPV Options” field with hwdec=vaapi, but it didn’t enable hardware acceleration.

Has anyone here succeeded in making it work in Celluloid?
