There’s been some discussion on how we can collect better metrics. Using FAS here on this platform is one way to improve that, but I am not up to date on what the current methods of gathering stats are (or are being worked on) at the moment.
It’s a particularly hard problem, especially because while we want to count users, we want to ensure that in no way does this track them. However, without some tracking, how does one ensure that unique users are counted only once etc.
I seem to remember some discussion about this on the devel mailing list, but that particular mailing list is so active that I am unable to find this thread: Fedora devel mailing list
