Christian doesn’t intend to maintain it anymore, but, ptyxis package still links to his repository. That’s also where translations are pushed. What is your plan wrt it? Do you plan on forking it? Or switching away to something else?
As it stands Ptyxis is unmaintained, and translators waste their time on it.

Since I built that product for RHEL, I have no interest in working on it for the foreseeable future. Red Hat created this mess, they can clean it up.
Different question: is Fedora planning to keep Ptyxis alive downstream, i.e. include latest translation updates on your own? If there are no such plans I’m gonna file ticket to GNOME i18n coordination repo to remove Ptyxis. Unmaintained apps have no business being there anyway.

I think Ghostty should be considered one of the alternatives.
A prerequisite for that would be to actually package Ghostty for Fedora. But doing that is not straightforward due to there not being much infrastructure for dealing with Zig projects … and how to handle bundled Zig libraries does not look like a solved problem.

What about Console? While not as feature-rich as Ptyxis, it’s nevertheless GNOME’s official (as in core app) terminal emulator.
That would be the logical choice I would think.
It has only been unmaintained for 2 weeks. Isn’t it possible that someone else will step in to maintain it?

Ptyxis was made specifically because RH did not wanted Console.

It looks like there were a bunch of commits on July 31st.(Excluding all the translations)
Christian above linked blog from February which lists Ptyxis as one of the hereby unmaintained projects. A couple of fixes here and there doesn’t change the fact that it’s functionally abandoned.
I was thinking something along these lines, too.
Yes, it has been unmaintained for longer now, but it is reasonable to assume that Red Hat (and/or Canonical) is in the process of finding someone else to take over. They have paying customers expecting this software to be supported.
At the same time, I think it’s reasonable for Fedora to consider a “Plan B” just in case.
