Here’s my Fedora 39 MATE Laptop Desktop. I use various backgrounds. But for this discussion, I substituted in a picture I took while I was in the TX Hill Country some years ago. I installed the gnome-colors-icon theme because it has my favorite icons and color scheme and they’re not in the vanilla MATE installation. I love having a bottom panel and nothing else besides the default three desktop icons on the screen.

Looking at your wallpaper i think Upscaler might work great to get it, well, upscaled. I’ve had good results when using it for wallpapers like that.

This is mine - I’m a new Fedorian (Fedoran?), but kept my hyprland setup from EndeavorOS. That’s waybar at the top and for some reason I can never get along with icons on desktops (even when you’re able to have them!)
