back in the day when i’d been having this problem i’d managed to construct some weird routine around activating and deactivating multimonitor setup so to avoid or mitigate it. which is way beyond any normal experience an unaware user should expect, i agree with you completely.
this is what makes the out of the box experience, not some preinstalled arbitraryly chosen bloatware such as steam, obs, an office suite or whatever. the system may be barren af, but should work flawlessly in any basic scenario.
ps: as for a proper english - i’m not a native english speaker and always bare in mind if not expect the possibility that my wording and grammar is off. however i can only blame myself so much for people not getting what the issue at hand is, lol
Can you please report such things upstream https://discuss.kde.org/
This way it will get fixed automatically in Fedora Linux when we use a newer version of KDE.
If someone from you could post a screenshot, where shows the function which has to be disabled, would help others to see the solution straight away. I really had to read twice to see the solution.
I REALLY do not want to create a new account for this…
I want to ask you to do it instead, because I believe you already have an account there. It’d be nice to get cited as the reason the fix has been found tho…
What I can do is, to go after that someone from the Fedora community with a KDE account will report it.
I just need your and @malarkos permission to clean up this topic (it was a necroposting), and let us create anew one with the actual information like F41 version and if it was also was an upgrade or a new installation.
This way, the topic is on your name and the person who makes a request on KDE can link to the new cleaned up topic. And we can also mark your answer with the screenshot as a solution then.
Everyone with, I guess TL1, can flag a user. When he believes that the content he writes, is not the way, as we do ask in the CoC (Code of Conduct).
I do not complain that you made a request with the solution. I just try to give you feedback what I know from etiquette’s of internet behavior. Whole words/phrases in capital letters is seen as screaming to someone.
And power words like “bam! first damn thing” , and even in capital letters/bold, also not contributes to the nice friendly atmosphere we normally do have. Try to write in a friendly and welcoming manner. This way the chance to get help is much bigger.
With this action to clean up, and being willing to help, I also try to contribute to a better atmosphere.
I am waiting to yours and @malarkos ok to clean up. If you both have misunderstandings with my English, you can also ask me in a personal message alias a pm.
At the lower right corner of the post there should be a check box that can be used to mark the solution. For the OP it should be there automatically. For others the ... should expand the icons there to show the check box.
Btw I finally managed to LogIn into this site on Windows 10 because, basically, as I click “Log In” a white page appears, with a pop-up asking username & password.
What one should instead do is cancel that pop-up, wait for another loading, and THEN insert credentials into the proper credentials-hole.
