I’m on a fresh install of asahi fedora 38 with kde on mc1 macbook pro 14in.
Linux asahi 6.4.4-402.asahi.fc38.aarch64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Sun Jul 23 17:29:44 UTC 2023 aarch64 GNU/Linux
On the asahi machine, I can use a vnc client (KRDC and tigervnc) to connect to other remote machines, but when connecting to localhost:5901 to a local docker container, the client seems to hang, and on the host i see an x11vnc process using 100% cpu.
If instead of connecting to a local docker container, I turn on KRFB desktop sharing and i try to use my phone to vnc to the asahi machine, the vnc client connects, and I can see the mouse, but the screen is solid black.
I’m wondering if anyone has succesfully connected to a vnc server hosted directly on asahi fedora, or thru a docker container hosted on an asahi fedora machine.
I was able to replicate your issue with Krfb. A remote connection from RealVNC Viewer on a Windows system to Fedora Asahi Remix only displays a black screen with the same aspect ratio as the target desktop, but mouse and keyboard redirection work perfectly in the VNC session.
It looks like all required packages are present and related processes running, and I saw nothing noteworthy in the Systemd journal. Others online seem to be having the same issue with Krfb/Wayland, so this may just be a bug.
