I’m not sure if this is a KDE Plasma issue or a Vivaldi browser issue. I’ve tried posting to Vivaldi forum but haven’t received any assistance yet so I thought I would post here to see if any other Fedora Plasma users using Vivaldi have experienced this and know how to disable it.
I have noticed since installing and using Vivaldi recently (first time user of Vivaldi) on Fedora Plasma that, intermittently, site shortcut widgets have been appearing on my Desktop. I don’t want this.
How do I turn this off?
Thanks.
When I still used Plasma and Vivaldi (it was time ago) I didn’t had this issue. To narrow it down a bit, by “desktop widgets” you mean widgets on your wallpaper, or icon shortcuts? If the latter, then maybe those are PWAs? It’s hard to say without knowing what you’re seeing.
Yes, to both your questions. A icon shortcut to the site is created on my Desktop. When I delete the shortcut icon, Plasma responds with a message that the “Widget” was removed. If I look at /home/username/Desktop directory within Dolphin or terminal emulator, nothing is displayed. When I look at the Properties of the shortcut icon, it is placed in /home/username/.local/share/plasma_icons/. Looking at the Details tab on the Properties, it states it is a Type: Link.
