Visual customization tutorials?

I want to radically customize my working environment. You know things like Rainmeter on Windows, file folder and backgrounds. Don’t forget mouse pointer and icons. Also my terminal needs to look second to none.

I see a lot of video tutorials for windows, but none for Linux except for a few basic tweaks to Gnome. What is available in our universe? Any links to tutorials, software, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I would love to see your desktops and how you customized them.

Whereas I want my desktop to be as stock GNOME as possible :slight_smile: .

Joking aside, a good place to start is to check what the GNOME extensions have to offer. Many of them tend to break with major upgrades though.

There is a thread here that showcases user backgrounds, giving a glimpse to customisations as well.
