Virtual Keyboard reactivated after update

Is it normal that after each update (of kde?) the virtual keyboard is activated again? I have a laptop with an attached keyboard and see little reason for it taking up screen space. But it keeps comming back.

Not here - I’ve literally never seen the virtual keyboard on screen as I’ve no need for it.

I presume you’ve activated it at some point and elected to have it shown on screen for a purpose?

Same here. never used it, not wanting it. It keeps appearing after every update (of kde). It’s annoying.

Sofar I have only deactivate it. Afer every update…

It’s this upstream bug: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=519481 , fixed in the upcoming KDE Frameworks 6.29 release.

Somewhat weird - my virtual keyboard stays disabled and set to None, and never appears - it seems to respect the values selected and applied in Settings.

It doesn’t - I’m noting that your issue does not appear on my machine, and I’ve done nothing special to my machine to configure it.

I set the Vkeyboard to “None” and set the “Show Virtual Keyboard” to “Never” and it stays that way just as I displayed in my screenshot above. It never changes itself, it never appears and it all appears to be working as designed on my machine.

Once again, you’re a special case.

I wonder if this already in the Fedora 44 stream. Is this something that can be checked? It is annoying as hell.
