Video Player and files on a smb share

I have a NAS that I access through smb:// in the file manager.

Below is the comportment I find troubling:

  • If I double click on a video file, the video player is started, but then give an error.
  • If I open the video player, and in its file opening dialog navigate to the same file on the NAS, then it plays correctly.

Some details about the error:

And if I click on copy technical details, it just contain Failed to pause

How can I try to understand what’s wrong with the double-click opening ?

Those two issues seem to be related to your problem:

You may want to follow those reports and use a different video player until the issue is fixed upstream.

Indeed the first one looks like my issue. Thank you for the pointer.

In the meantime, I suppose I will just drag and drop the file, as this works too :wink:
