Video Playback Issues After Latest Updates

After updating last night, any video I play is choppy and distorted no matter which player I use. I’ve tried Dragon Player and VLC, both have the same results. Is this a known issue?

My System:
Operating System: Fedora Linux 37
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.103.0
Qt Version: 5.15.8
Kernel Version: 6.1.14-200.fc37.x86_64 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11
Processors: 32 × 13th Gen Intel® Core™ i9-13900K
Memory: 62.6 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070/PCIe/SSE2
Manufacturer: Micro-Star International Co., Ltd.
Product Name: MS-7D91
System Version: 4.0

EDIT:
I just discovered it’s any video. This includes in the browser as well.

Check if you have properly set up hardware acceleration.

How could a simple update screw things up so badly? I’ve never had this problem before.

Considering my setup, I’m assuming these are what I needed to download (but I don’t know if that’s correct):

…and in an odd twist of events, it just fixed itself. I did nothing to cause it or fix it.

However, I’d still like to know why it happened.

Did you reboot?

Very rarely (let’s say <1/100 reboots), my nvidia drivers (kernel modules) simply fail to load for no reason. Usually I notice it if a browser or other GUI gets sluggish, but a few times I didn’t notice it for hours/days working in the terminal.
