Vboxdrv modules fail while running virtual box in f44, why?

I have been reciaveng this error, while trying to execute vms with virtualbox:

Kernel driver not installed (rc=-1908)

The VirtualBox Linux kernel driver (vboxdrv) is probably not loaded. You may not have kernel driver installed for kernel that is runnig, if so you may do as root: dnf install akmod-VirtualBox kernel-devel-$(uname -r)If you installed VirtualBox packages and don't want reboot the system, you may need load the kernel driver, doing as root: akmods; systemctl restart vboxdrv.service

If your system has EFI Secure Boot enabled you may also need to sign the kernel modules (vboxdrv, vboxnetflt, vboxnetadp) before you can load them. Please see your Linux system's documentation for more information.

where: suplibOsInit what: 3 VERR_VM_DRIVER_NOT_INSTALLED (-1908) - The support driver is not installed. On linux, open returned ENOENT.

how can i fix this?

2 possibilities.

  1. you have secure boot enabled and the vboxdrv module is either not signed or the signing key has not been enrolled into the bios.
  2. you do not presently have the module available.

You did not state how you installed VirtualBox. It can be installed directly from oracle and the signing and key enrollment are not the same as when it is installed from the rpmfusion repo.

Personally I use rpmfusion to install VirtualBox and have never had an issue with it.
Instructions are here, here, and here.

If you installed VB from oracle, remove it before installing from rpmfusion.
