Variable refresh rate with G-Sync screen causes artifacts/brightness glitches on HDMI (2.1)

Hello all,
I recently switched my monitor from a Freesync Premium to a G-Sync one, and I have issues with VRR I did not have before. When I use any program in fullscreen on Gnome (or use the setting “always” on KDE or go fullscreen with “automatic”), the screen brightness flickers and I have some artifacts, accentuated when I move the mouse. This happens on every application, even on the terminal emulator.

I think this is probably due to having switched from freesync to gsync and/or using HDMI 2.1 instead of DP 1.4. The issue is that I cannot do anything about that, as my new monitor (ok it is a TV, the LG C4) has only HDMI inputs, and I don’t think I can switch it to freesync even though it is compatible.

I have a 3070, and the latest akmod-nvidia (580.95.05).

Anyone had the same issue ? I will switch to AMD at some point as I’m not using CUDA anymore, but if I could fix that in the meantime I would be quite happy.

Ok it seems this has everything to do with the TV (https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/geforce-graphics-cards/5/567128/gsync-on-oled-tvs-vrr-issues/) and nothing with the implementation of VRR, so closing.
