Systemd-sysext provides us with a very simple mechanism to apply overlays to /usr, and seems to simplify the installation of apps (or even dev/debug images) and etc. in the OS (something that GnomeOS is already working on. Of course, remembering that it is an A/B Root system). Would it be feasible to apply the same to Silverblue and CoreOS?

Note that this won’t be a “solution” for this question as we won’t cover adding kernel modules such as the NVIDIA one.
