USB tethering stopped working in Kernel 6.13.11

Greetings
I was affected by a change in the kernel that breaks USB tethering from my android phone:

what confuses me is, how did this come to 6.13.11 (latest kernel installed on my system)? the report (and other reports about this on fedora discussion) all say that it happened after 6.14.2 upgrade.

I am in fedora 41, and when i booted 6.13.10 the problem was gone.

Does this mean this particular change was “backported” to previous kernel versions? i want to learn how this versioning system works

It was backported to 6.13.

Thank you very much. if you don’t mind, can you please share how you find what features/commits get backported?

I usually look here, cki-project / kernel-ark · GitLab

pick the fedora-x.xx branch I’m looking for and look through the history.
