Upgrade to f43 disabled nftables

After I upgraded from f42 to f43 my firewall was disabled.

I am not using firewalld, but nftables. It was enabled on f42, but after the upgrade nftables was disabled.

I am not happy with Fedora disabling an essential service during an upgrade without telling me. My server was running w/o a firewall for days, before I noticed it only by chance.

This is ridiculous and makes me angry.

Btw, I also do not understand why Fedora does not automatically enable network and sshd in the initramfs, if the root partition is encrypted. I know how to set it up and all. (I do not need help.) However, this should be part of a server OS. I mean what is more important than being able to unlock a boot and root volume? Especially on a headless server.

Nftables service disabled on upgrade to Fedora 43

Thanks for the link, but that’s after the fact. I only noticed it by chance and if I hadn’t the server would have run w/o a firewall for god knows how long.

As soon as this bug was filed, Fedora should have released an updated package that automatically enables the service and starts it as well.
