Upgrade from Fedora 33 beta to final

Hi all,

If i install Fedora Beta 33 now, do i have to reinstall after the official version is released or do i roll from beta into final?

Kind regards
John

Hi @WebHeer, welcome to Fedora! Please take a minute to go through the introductory posts in the #start-here category if you’ve not had a chance to do so yet.

You do not have to reinstall. When F33 is released, the fedora-release* packages will be updated and your system will be converted to F33. So, just keep updating

I wonder if this is documented somewhere? Perhaps in the quick-docs? So we can just refer to it?

Hi,
I had the same thoughts. The process is somewhat documented in Upgrading to a new release of Fedora :: Fedora Docs, and then links to Upgrading from pre-release to final - Fedora Project Wiki

Maybe we can improve the Quick Doc…

Yeh, perhaps add a FAQ document there in the “upgrading” section? Or just copy points 2 and 3 from the wiki page to the doc? We should look at who keeps the wiki page up to date, though, and see what they think.
