Upgrade From 43 KDE to Kinoite

Anyone here have any experience doing this and if so did you lose any data?

Hi Dave,
It is difficult to say if you loose your data without having info how you installed the KDE edition and how you plan to install Kinoite.

Fact remains, before you start doing something make sure you have a solid backup of all your data. Don’t only make a backup, but when that’s done check it, see if all is there, check if you can open some files in the backup. Better safe than sorrow. An operation like you plan to do can become a major pain in the you know what when you later find out (some of) your data is gone forever.

In your KDE edition please open a terminal and type:
lsblk
Please copy the instruction and the result from the terminal (Shift-Ctrl-c) and paste it, after you clicked on the </> button on top of the answering field, on top of the blue line: "type or paste code here.

type or paste code here

This will give the complete summary of disks and partitions you have in your computer.
Did you use manual or automatic partitioning?

What possibilities you have depend on your answer.

Thanks for the reply. It was getting to be a hassle to do this from the terminal so I bit the bullet and did a fresh install. Only took me 8 minutes plus another 5 to copy over my data.
