Unable to login to a graphical session after latest update

I don’t know the title should be “I can’t boot after latest update” because I was able to log in to a tty session.
Whenever I turn my laptop on its just a black screen with a cursor blinking and can only get into a tty session.
Booting into an older kernel also didn’t seem to work and get me into kde

Hardware:

  • HP ProBook 6470b
  • CPU: i5-3320m
  • GPU: no dedicated GPU, only integrated graphics (Intel HD graphics 4000)

Software:

  • KDE Plasma DE
  • sddm (with autologin to an x11 plasma session)
  • latest available kernel for fedora 40
