Unable to Connect to Ethernet on Fedora – Network Login Page Not Opening

Hello Fedora community,

I’m facing an issue with connecting to the internet via Ethernet on my Fedora OS. Here’s the situation:

  • When I use Ethernet on Windows, it works perfectly. The network login page (keepalive network) opens automatically in the browser, and I can log in successfully.
  • On Fedora, the Ethernet connection is detected, but the network login page does not open in any browser.
  • I am, however, able to connect to the institute’s WiFi on Fedora, and the network login page opens fine in a browser.

System Info:

  • Fedora OS version 37
  • NetworkManager version 1.40.18-1.fc37

Could this be an issue with Fedora not detecting the captive portal? Are there any specific configurations I need to adjust to make this work?

Unfortunately you are using an outdated Fedora Version. You might make you a tests boot ISO/pen-drive and check if you still have the same issues to connect the network. If you still have Issues with the newer version you can actualize your request so we can help you better.

I have updated my OS to the latest version of fedora. Still I’m facing the same issue.
