Unable to change user password && brcmfmac module need to be reloaded

Hi,

I’m not able to change the user password on fedora server 42 (riscv generic), i have changed the username but when i want to modify the password i get “erreur de manipulation du jeton d’authenfication” (in french, sorry), i tried as user and su root, permissions on /etc/{passwd,shadow,group,gshadow} are ok.

The other issue is on workstation 42 (aarch64), i must unload brcmfmac_wcc then brcmfmac then reload brcmfmac to activate wifi, i get errors like brcmf_sdio_bus_rxctl: resumed on timeout and brcmf_proto_bcdc_query_dcmd: brcmf_proto_bcdc_msg failed w/status -110 in dmesg output.

I will continu to search by myself but if someone has some pointers where to look or even better a solution

Please note that these are two very different problems on 2 different systems.
I suggest that you modify this one to apply to only one problem/system and open a second topic for the second problem/system.

As far as the problem with the aarch64 system, we would need a lot of additional information to identify the hardware and required modules before any solution may be proposed.
On whichever thread is used for that system please post (as preformatted text using the </> button on the toolbar) the output of inxi -Fzxx by copy/paste of the results

With the password issue please show the exact commands you are using to try changing the password. I would suggest using sudo passwd USERNAME to make that change since I use the command line almost exclusively for system management.

Thank you for your advice, i will post more details about my only remaining problem asap (the wifi one).

The other one (passwd) has been fixed by dnf autoremove, the guilty was jemalloc 5.3.0-11.
