Description

A build of xwayland-satellite. xwayland-satellite grants rootless Xwayland integration to any Wayland compositor implementing xdg_wm_base. This is particularly useful for compositors that (understandably) do not want to go through implementing support for rootless Xwayland themselves.

Hi, my systemd service keeps timing out and killing the service. I temporarily commented out Type=notify, but I see from upstream that this should work and that the systemd feature is enabled in the source package spec. Does this bug affect anyone else? If so how can this be happening?

Update: a newer commit also logs status of systemd notification that might come in handing for debugging

Hey,
I’ve just updated the package to the new release, but that doesn’t seem to fix the issue.
The package is built with the systemd feature, so I’m not sure what’s the problem. You can have a look at the spec file if you want to help!

I tried building a forked copr, but I dont think the issue is necessarily with the copr build, but the sourcecode. The resouce systemd file also looks fine. So I am not sure. However would be great if you could rebuild the package for F42!
(Nit: You can probably delete the soucr code from your spec file repo right? You just need the spec file there)

Hey, thanks for the help! I really don’t know what’s the problem… I just rebuilt the package, thanks for reminding me.

I filed an issue upstream Example Systemd service fails with timeout · Issue #171 · Supreeeme/xwayland-satellite · GitHub. As noted in the issue my logs do show that systemd support is disabled but I’ve went through the build logs and I do find /usr/bin/cargo build -j4 -Z avoid-dev-deps --profile rpm --features systemd
