Two weeks to FrOSCon 2026 - all hands on deck!

FrOSCon is a generic FOSS conference with free attendance which happens every year in August near Bonn in Germany.

There are many tracks, project booths and even local companies doing hiring. The talks are done in both English and German.

The event is also very friendly to kids, both those which want to just hang around and the young contributors.

This year FrOSCon will happen on August 15-16 2026.

As August started unexpectedly, and due to my complete inability to plan ahead we are here again stuck with the last minute work items.

But all is not lost!

We have a confirmed booth. I have a set of my most beloved stickers. And some ideas and requests:

  • If you plan to visit, give a talk or want to hang out at the booth - please say “hi” in the Matrix room and/or consider adding yourself to the FrOSCon wiki page

  • If you do some interesting stuff in Fedora and want to talk to people about it, consider creating a simple A4 page with a teaser, which we can put on the table at the booth and use as a conversation starter. Print it yourself or send it my way to print.

  • If you come on Friday before the event, consider joining me for a short evening hike to the Drachenfels castle.

  • Other ideas for the booth welcome.

That’s called tradition :classic_smiley: It would not be the Fedora booth of FrOSCon if it doesn’t start that way :stuck_out_tongue:

Re-classify the wrinkles as modern art. These days they sell jeans with sewed in wrinkles to avoid they go away after washing or ironing. So that cover story will withstand the investigations of average booth visitors: let’s just hope they don’t read this topic :smiley:
