Tracked extract is consuming a whole thread worth of processor

Every time I restart silverblue on my laptop, there comes a time when tracker-extract starts going wild and consuming a whole core worth of processor time, which causes my machine to become a space heater. .
To stop this behavior I simply select ‘stop process’ from the right click menu.
What should I do? Is this simply a bug?

It’s probably a bug. Isolating it to both find a cause as well as stop the problem from happening in your case would be useful. My guess is it’s getting confused when searching in a particular file that it probably ought to exclude from indexing. Are there any tracker related messages in the journal? You can do something like sudo journalctl --since=-5m | grep track which will show anything with the word track in the last 5 minutes. There might be a hint.
