Rollback,
Downgrade package,
or select previous OS version at start up

I seen a report of this happening as well on Fedora Workstation using the fedora Flatpak.

Regular user here. For me, this error is triggered when trying to add an email attachment within Thunderbird. I click the “Attach” button, and Thunderbird immediately crashes.

Has anyone filed a bug? How to file a bug :: Fedora Docs
Thanks!

Right, and I think OP is also using the Fedora Flatpak here. (The logs say net.thunderbird.Thunderbird whereas the Flathub one is org.mozilla.Thunderbird)

The Flathub version was last updated on 14th Oct and is running fine for me.

Sorry dumb question: what is OP?

OP stands for Original Poster, so you

Same here, with flatpak net.thunderbird.Thunderbird from Fedora. Surely, there’s an easy way to dowgrade/revert to the flatpak version that was installed before the latest update, but I struggle to find how to find the previous version.

flatpak remote-info fedora net.thunderbird.Thunderbird just shows the latest version, so unclear how to follow the flatpak official documentation for downgrades.

facing the same issue

Someone on the bug report mentioned that deleting the TMPDIR environment variable for Thunderbird in Flatseal allows it to start. This has also worked for me, though I haven’t understood what this was intended to do in the first place.

Thanks for this. I had to install Flatseal, then was able to locate thunderbird, scroll til I found the Environment section and deleted the TMPDIR variable. After that, launched thunderbird as normal. Worked on the flatpak version of thunderbird.
