Thunderbird crashes on x86_64 even after the update to thunderbird-0:146.0.1-3.fc42.x86_64

I’m still getting the original segmentation fault on thunderbird-0:146.0.1-3.fc42.x86_64.
This is on two different machines running Workstation and KDE.
Was the fix rolled out to fc42 for x86_64 as well?

Yes. If you’re still seeing crashes it’s probably not the same problem. Have you got a backtrace?

Working on a backtrace and debug pack. I’m guessing bugzilla is the best place to upload with a new ticket, according to these guidelines?

I have moved the recent three posts from Thunderbird crashes on Asahi and/or aarch64 - #13 to a new topic: discussing an x86_64 case in an asahi / aarch64 topic makes it unlikely that other people with the same issue will find the topic :classic_smiley:

Let me know if I shall change the title or so

Hmm, interesting error. Googling finds two other references, [SOLVED] Segfault in hardware accelerated applications / Kernel & Hardware / Arch Linux Forums and Elf on a shelf with glibc 2.41 & friends / Newbie Corner / Arch Linux Forums . Both seem to involve the NVIDIA proprietary driver. Are you using that? Does the problem go away if you try not using it (sorry, not sure how easy it is to turn it on/off, I avoid NVIDIA hardware like the plague), or switch to a different version of it?

Good idea Adam, since both machines are running the NVIDIA driver with NVIDIA cards.
I removed the NVIDIA driver, rebooted, confirmed running on Nouveau, upgraded to Thunderbird 146 and retested.
Sadly the segmentation fault persists.

My “goto” method of finding the proper bug report place is to look in the “rpm -qi ” listing for the package, then use the URL listed in the “Bug URL”
For example for Thunderbird it is:

rpm -qi thunderbird | grep Bug
Bug URL : https://bugz.fedoraproject.org/thunderbird
