Thoughts on Niri?

Curious what people think about Niri so far. I haven’t used it yet myself but the mechanics of it look amazing. I could honestly see myself replacing KDE Plasma with Niri if Niri became an official Edition for Fedora. (If you haven’t seen Niri in action yet, here is a good showing of it; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uiXiD5foFCI)

Looks potentially interesting.

Might fire up a VM at the weekend and play around with it.

Thanks for sharing.

I’ve switched from sway to niri and have been daily driving it since around October. There’s still a few edges that I don’t particularly love (workspace placing being one), but otherwise I’m quite happy with the setup. The only real downside is the high resource usage. I probably won’t be putting niri on my low end travel Thinkpad.

Yeah let me know what you think! It looks interesting. Are you going to try and run it on Fedora (I’m not familiar with how that would work or if that is possible) or another distro?

Ohhh, I wonder if they can optimize it in the coming versions/updates.
