Thinkpad X1 2-in1 won’t sleep, only has s2idle

Just got my Thinkpad X1 2-in1 today after reading many reviews that said it pretty much works perfect with Linux.

Problem is, it won’t sleep, and sys/power/mem_sleep shows s2idle as the only option.

updated firmware and no change.

I read that changing the sleep option in the BIOS was the thing to do, but my BIOS has no such thing.

what do I do? I really don’t want to return it.

System deets: Fedora 42 KDE, Intel 258v processor, everything up to date as of today

is the current standard for mobile devices. The old S3 sleep mode is not available/ supported by BIOS oy more.

Understood. And ultimately it looks like I lose less than 1%/hr in standby anyway so no cause for alarm.

This is my first time owning a properly modern computer.
