Thinkpad T480: iPhone 13 works with standard USB-C port, but cannot be recognized by Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port

Hey there, I’m experiencing a strange USB-related issue with my Thinkpad T480 running Fedora 36 GNOME.

I am able to connect to my iPhone 13 Pro just fine over USB when using the normal USB-C port usb 1-4, but when using my Thunderbolt 3 port usb usb3-port1, the iPhone fails to be recognized. Here is the related dmesg output:

Despite the iPhone connection not working, I was able to connect a USB 3.0 and 2.0 flash drive to the same port with a USB-C to A adapter and both worked fine.

I’m using an official Apple Lightning to USB-C cable, and my Thunderbolt controller firmware has been updated to version 23 – This T480 is also running system FW version 0.1.39.

Thanks a bunch.
